About EcoEdge

EcoEdge builds intelligent climate control that keeps homes and workplaces comfortable while using less energy. We make the hardware that measures and controls your indoor climate, and the software that learns how your building actually behaves.

Our view is simple: comfort and efficiency are not a trade-off. A heating system that knows how fast each room loses heat, and what the weather will do next, can keep you just as warm with less energy.

Who we are

EcoEdge is an engineering company based in Riga, Latvia, in the European Union. Our team brings three disciplines together:

  • Thermal engineering: how buildings gain and lose heat, room by room, and how to model it from real measurements.
  • Hardware engineering: the sensors and heating controllers that measure and run your indoor climate.
  • Software engineering: the models, the Home Assistant integration and this dashboard that connect the two.

Heating sits exactly where these meet, which is why we build all three ourselves.

What we build

Climate hardware. Temperature, humidity and CO2 sensors, and controllers for multi-zone heating. That includes our flagship 16-port 24 V underfloor heating controller, designed to work with Home Assistant. Available in the EcoEdge shop.

EcoEdge climate intelligence. This dashboard and the free Home Assistant integration. They work with the thermostats you already have and show you:

  • how fast each room loses heat (its heat-loss coefficient);
  • how each room's temperature will develop over the next 24 hours of weather (predictions);
  • the lowest setpoint that keeps you comfortable, and what you could save by following it;
  • what actually happened each week: heating time compared with how cold it was, and time spent below target.

How we work

You stay in control. EcoEdge recommends; it never changes your thermostats. What you do with a recommendation, by hand or in your own Home Assistant automations, is up to you.

Measured, not claimed. Every forecast is scored each week against what your thermometers actually recorded, and compared with the simplest possible guess: that the temperature stays where it is. A model that can't beat simple rules on homes it has never seen doesn't influence your recommendations. The saving we show is the honest potential, averaged over the whole week, including the hours when there is nothing to save.

Physics first. Recommendations come from a physical model of each room that you can check, not from a black box. Machine learning only gets a role where it measurably improves on the physics.

Your data stays yours. EcoEdge receives thermostat states, the outdoor sensor you choose and weather data for your location. No cameras, no microphones, no occupancy tracking. Delete a home or your account at any time, and its data goes with it, including from the data our models learn from.

Works with what you have. Any thermostat, radiator valve, heat pump or floor-heating zone that Home Assistant sees as a climate entity can be modelled. The integration's code is public on GitHub.
